This social ballroom dancing event is held on the first and third Friday’s monthly. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with a lesson at 7:45 p.m. and general dancing to pre-recorded music selections until 10:00 p.m. B.Y.O.B. and everyone brings a snack to share, water is available on site with donations accepted for the Zumba Cafe, operated by individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities at CFP. Both couples and singles are welcome and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for beginners and seasoned dancers alike. $15.00 per person and $25.00 per couple, reduced pricing for those acting as “dance hosts” just $7.00 in lieu of dancing with people without partners.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
