East Providence man among those charged over July 4 weekend

SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Police arrested 10 people, including one person from East Providence, over the July 4 holiday weekend on charges of operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol according to Major Christopher J. Dicomitis, Administrative Bureau Commander.

"With summer upon us, we want to send a strong message to everyone who lives in or vists Rhode Island: We will not tolerate motorists who operate under the influence of drugs or alcohol, putting themselves and others at risk," Major Dicomitis said.

Arrested for driving under the influence over the weekend:

Robert Kashow, age 39, of 9 Rich Street, Rumford, was arrested about 1:10 a.m. on Saturday after a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Providence. He was charged with 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – greater than.15 – First Offense (Phase I .196) (Phase II .194).
