PORTSMOUTH — The results are in: A new moderator was elected to the Administrative Board of the Portsmouth Water and Fire District Wednesday, June 12, and its treasurer retained his seat.
David G,. Reise was elected to a three-year term as moderator, winning 235 votes. He succeeds the previous moderator, Ronald Molleur, who died in March.
Two other candidates for moderator, Tasha MacGibbon and John Vitkevich, picked up 117 votes and 54 votes, respectively.
Allen Shers held onto his treasurer’s seat, also a three-year position, accumulating 234 votes. Mr. Shers is also a member of the Portsmouth School Committee.
His only challenger was Debra Cardoza, who earned 161 votes. There were also three write-ins,
During the election, 413 ballots were cast, representing about 3 percent of eligible voters in town.
The other members are the water board are Frederick Faerber III, tax collector (he’s also on the school board); Andrew Kelly, water commissioner (also a Town Council member); Philip Driscoll, clerk; and Theodore Czech and David Gleason, tax assessors.
