Primiano: Seniors need more housing options

Posted

Currently senior citizens who want to downsize and remain in Barrington have few options. The proposed senior development at the former Zion College site would have been a giant step in addressing the problem.  Additionally, the project would have provided increased tax revenue for the town with minimal impact on services. Unfortunately the developer never followed through and the project was abandoned.

The Zion property is now a health and safety hazard and needs to be responsibly developed. I look forward to working with another developer to facilitate the creation of a senior community that provides a variety of housing options for senior citizens of all income levels.
