Pothole claims four (vehicle) victims on Barrington road

Bristol County Water Authority had been doing work in the area

By the time the police officer arrived, four vehicles were lined up along the edge of the road, each with damaged tires.

According to Barrington police, a pothole on Washington Road was to blame for the four damaged cars on Thursday, Sept. 12. Police received a call about the situation at about 11:15 a.m., and an officer responded to the scene.

When he arrived, four vehicles had pulled over to the side of the road. Each vehicle had a damaged front tire.

Police said that a contractor for the Bristol County Water Authority had been doing work in the area, resulting in a large section of road void of asphalt. The contractor gave his information to all the motorists, in an apparent sign that his company would pay for the damaged tires.

Meanwhile, the Barrington Department of Public Works responded to the location and filled the pothole.
