Portsmouth Police: Domestic incidents, DUIs, disorderly conduct

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:

Monday, Sept. 30

James E. Holly III, 68, of 17 Luther Lane, was charged with disorderly conduct (offense words at another). He was arrested on an affidavit warrant at his home at about 11 a.m., police said.

Tuesday, Oct. 1

Jerry Walmsley, 45, of 76 Princess Ave., Cranston, was charged with violating a no-contact order, his third offense. Officers arrested Walmsley after responding to an East Main Road home at about 2:45 p.m. to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they discovered a no-contact order was active between Walmsley and a 40-year-old woman who lives in Portsmouth, police said. 

Friday, Oct. 4

Christopher D. Knight, 22, of 141 Quequechan St., Fall River, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense; and driving after his license had been denied, revoked or suspended due to certain violations, first offense. Knight was pulled over at 1055 East Main Road at about 12:45 a.m.

Hunter W. Ferris, 25, of 167 Water St., was arrested at his home around 9 p.m. on a warrant stemming from a domestic kidnapping offense that had previously occurred in Tiverton, police said. Ferris failed to relinquish the victim’s mobile phone and struck her with the door to the residence, according to police. Ferris was charged with domestic assault/battery, domestic disorderly conduct, and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone. The victim was a 23-year-old woman from Westport, police said.

Saturday, Oct. 5

Paul Christopher D’Andrea, 46, of 93 Baker Road, was charged with DUI, first offense, following a single-vehicle accident in the area of Bristol Ferry Road and Brownell Lane around 5:45 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 7

Marc Robert Therien, 55, of 276 High St., Bristol, was charged with DUI, second offense, following a report of a motor vehicle accident on Boyds Lane at Chase Road at about 7:45 p.m. Police said Therien was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, his second offense.
