Portsmouth Police charge three with driving under the influence

PORTSOUTH — Here are some recent highlights from the Portsmouth Police report:

Wednesday, Nov. 17

Ivan Uritis, 31, of 5 Lake Shore Center, Apt. 1503, Bridgewater, Mass., was charged with driving under the influence (DUI-first offense) after being pulled over on West Main Road around 10:25 p.m. for speeding and weaving through traffic, police said. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Saturday, Nov. 20

Armando Horta Jr., 72, of 277 State St., Bristol, was charged with DUI (first offense) after being pulled over at the weigh station on Route 24 South around 5:40 p.m. Police said Mr. Horta’s vehicle had left its lane of travel multiple times and nearly collided with a patrol vehicle. He was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Sunday, Nov. 21

Jesus M. Melendez, 22, of 59 John H. Chaffee Boulevard, Newport, was charged with DUI (first offense) after being stopped on West Main Road at Russo Road around 2 a.m. for multiple moving violations. He was also cited for refusing a chemical test.
