PORTSMOUTH — Several officials from Portsmouth took part in the Aquidneck Island Preparedness and Volunteer Fair held Saturday at Gaudet School in Middletown.

The fair was sponsored by the Aquidneck Island Emergency Response and Recovery Planning Committee, on which Portsmouth is an active participant.

Town participants included the Portsmouth emergency manager, the fire and police departments and the town's all-volunteer communications unit, public information unit, volunteer reception center director, and Common Fence Point's Preparedness Committee.

The Portsmouth team was accompanied by K9 First Responders, Inc., an “all-hazards psychological trauma” K-9 response team.
