Portsmouth High School Drama Club to Present Moliere’s Tartuffe The Portsmouth High School Drama Club will be presenting the French comedy Tartuffe. Written by Moliere and translated into English verse by Wilber, this play follows Tartuffe, a religious hypocrite and the many scandals he ensues. Forty actors and technicians have cooperated since late September in preparations to present this play. In loving memory of Hannah Wertens, Director Sheli Silveria would like to dedicate this play to her and her never ending love for performing. Production dates are November 15th, 16th and 17th. Each night the curtain will open at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets will be available at the door.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
