Portsmouth hard plastic collection set for Aug. 29

PORTSMOUTH — The Town of Portsmouth has scheduled a hard plastic collection at the Hedly Street transfer station from 8 a.m. to noon (or until the container is full) on Saturday, Aug. 29.

This collection is only for those residents with a transfer station sticker. In the event of heavy rain, the collection may be postponed until Saturday, Sept. 5.

Acceptable items to dispose include carts, crates, buckets, baskets, lawn furniture, trays, small pools, clean garden plant trays and plastic pots, milk crates, etc. 

Items that are not allowed include PVC pipe, Styrofoam (including coolers), items with metal, rubber or wood, car seats, toys with batteries, etc.  

Residents are asked to minimize social contact, observe social distancing and wear a mask. Have items ready for unloading and remain in your vehicles as much as possible.
