PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Patriots gymnastics team won one and lost one over the past week.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, Mt. Hope High School squeaked by Portsmouth, 130.25 to 129.35, in a home match at the Newport County YMCA in Middletown.

Despite the loss, head coach Melissa Gendreau was pleased to see senior Kristie Lee competing again.

“Kristie has gotten her first all-around score today. This was the first meet she was back in the all-around position due to an injury,” Ms. Gendreau wrote in an e-mail.

She added that senior Mackenzie Brow has qualified for the states in the all-around competition.

On Sunday night, the Patriots beat West Warwick, 129.45 to 123.3, at Anchor Gymnastics in Coventry. It was the Patriots’ highest score of the season so far, Ms. Gendreau said.

Here are the team’s upcoming meets:

• against Barrington High and West Warwick High at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Newport County YMCA

• against Barrington High at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Prestige Fitness and Gymnastics Center

• against Mt. Hope High at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Strive Gymnastics & Fitness
