Police: 'Unusually tall man' spotted entering vacant home

Barrington police say no signs of forced entry at the home

A Charles Street resident called police on Thursday, July 18, after seeing a man enter a vacant home nearby.

The witness told police the suspect — "an unusually tall man" — entered the home and then exited carrying a plastic bag with items in it. He placed the bag in the bed of his truck and drove off. The incident occurred just prior to 4 p.m., said police.

Police responded to the home and the Realtor handling the home also stopped by. Police said there was no sign of forced entry and it appeared that nothing was missing from the home. Police have increased patrols in that part of town.
