Barrington went 0-for-2 trying to track down unleashed dogs last week.

A person called Barrington Police at about 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to report that a dog had been seen running loose around the community garden on the southbound side of the Wampanoag Trail.

Police responded to the garden but could not find the dog. Officers did, however, locate a sign pole that had been damaged by a vehicle. Police contacted the Rhode Island Department of Transportation about the sign pole.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, Barrington Police received a call for a dog running loose near the rotary at the intersection of Washington Road and County Road at about 11:50 p.m.

Police officers and passersby tried to catch the dog but were unable to do so.
