Police: Messages included vulgar, inappropriate images

Posted

A Barrington resident told police that he, his wife and her friend had all been receiving unwanted, vulgar images via text messages.

On Monday, Jan. 27, the man contacted police and told them that he initially responded to the sender, but the messages and inappropriate images continued.

Police called the number that was sending the texts and a unknown male answered. The man told police he knew nothing about the text messages. He then hung up before police could get any more information from him. Police said the number was traced to a Holyoke, Mass. resident.

Police followed up with the Barrington resident later in the week; he said he had not received any more texts from that number.
