Barrington police were checking Veterans Memorial Park at about 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, when they spotted a car parked on the dirt roadway.
Officers checked the surrounding area on foot and began hearing peoples' voices. The police then located a tent in the woods — eight people were inside the tent. Fires, hunting and camping are prohibited at Veterans Memorial Park, and the park is only open from sunrise to sunset.
Police checked the identifications of the people in the tent — all the occupants were 18 years old, except for one individual who was 17. One of the individuals was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
Police ordered the teenagers to leave the park.
