Police: Driver clocked at 83 mph in left turn lane

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by The Portsmouth Police Department:

Saturday, Oct. 3

John G. Genga IV, 31, of 110 Mayflower Drive, Middletown, was charged with reckless driving at about 9:30 p.m. Officers pulled Genga’s vehicle over on Willow Lane at West Main Road after observing it traveling at a high rate of speed — 83 mph in a posted 45 mph zone — and passing multiple vehicles in the center left-turn-only lane, according to police.

Sunday, Oct. 4

Destiny A. Johnson, 35, of 214 Purchase St., Apt. 2, Fall River, was charged with operating a vehicle under a foreign license that had been suspended or revoked. Johnson was pulled over on Route 24 at Sprague Street at about 5:30 p.m. after officers observed that she was not wearing her seatbelt correctly, police said.

Cailin A. Lopez Pineda, 19, of 181 Maple Ave., Apt. 1, Middletown, was charged with driving under the influence, first offense. Her vehicle was pulled over for multiple moving violations on West Main Road at Mailcoach Road shortly before 10 p.m., police said.
