Barrington Police cited two local teenagers with possession of alcoholic beverages by underage person-first offense, following a traffic stop on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Barrington Police said a vehicle was speeding on New Meadow Road at about 6:15 p.m. — police said the vehicle was traveling about 50 mph, which is significantly faster than the posted speed limits.
Police ordered the vehicle over to the side of the road. Police officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found a 30-pack of beer and two sleeves (multi-packs) of alcohol nips, as well as a bottle of white wine, some cigarettes and a vape.
Police said it was not clear where the teenagers — two 17-year-old Barrington boys — purchased the alcohol, cigarettes and vape. Police called the teenagers’ parents.
Police said the teenagers’ cases will likely be heard by the town’s juvenile hearing board.
