Warren and Bristol police are investigating after a Kickemuit Middle School student reported being approached by a man in a white vehicle after school late Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 17.
The student told police Wednesday, Sept. 18 that she was waiting near the electronic sign in front of the school at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle approached her. According to a memo to parents sent out by the Bristol Warren Regional School District, after the vehicle approached "the student ran toward the soccer field" to wait for her parents and was picked up by them a short time later.
The following day, the student told administrators about the incident. School staff shared the information with the school resource officer, and a report was filed. Both Warren and Bristol police were advised of the incident; Warren Deputy Chief Roy Borges said he would provide more information if possible.
