Photos: Holiday festivities kick off in East Providence

Posted

Many came out to enjoy the onset of the holiday season at the annual Townie Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 23 at East Providence High School. Families browsed a selection of artisanal items looking for gift inspirations, enjoyed fresh-spun cotton candy, and took in the festive atmosphere.

On the same day, miserable weather didn’t deter runners of all types from showing up for the annual East Providence Turkey Trot put on by the East Providence Recreation Department, which began and concluded at Pierce Stadium. The Edward Cronan Sr. Memorial Trophy, awarded to the first finisher of the 5K who lives in East Providence, went to Sean Black, who also happened to be the first finisher for the 5K in general. The first female finisher went to Satyarupaa Mohan.
