The Newport Folk Festival once again drew sold-out crowds to Fort Adam Park in Newport, as thousands watched the three-day festival amid beautiful summer weather. Just offshore, an armada of boats floated, with hundreds more people listening to the music  drift across the water.

Photographer Sally Swart captured these images from Friday's performances, which featured Sheryl Crow, with surprise guest James Taylor.
