EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School boys' basketball team needed to stage a large second-half response to avoid being upset by Central in the opening round of the Division I championship playoff Friday night, Feb. 28, the fifth-seeded Townies rallying to beat the 12th-seeded Knights 77-72.
