Philomena Pezzullo, 93, of Bristol

Mrs. Philomena (Murgo) Pezzullo, age 93, of Sherry Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday, July 03, 2019, at the Grace Barker Nursing Center, Warren.  She was the wife of the late Pasquale Pezzullo, her husband of 63 years, who preceded her in death in July of 2017.

Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Ermelinda (Cupolo) Murgo. 

Phil was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1943. She worked as a Medical Assistant for the Bristol County Medical Center for 25 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and was a volunteer for a number of years for Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. She was a member of the Leonardo da Vinci Lodge, Sons of Italy in Bristol.

Phil loved bike riding throughout Bristol, going to the gym for her workouts, daily trips to Dunkin Donuts, attending grandchildren’s soccer games, all with her late husband, Pat. Phil was well known for her baking skill, especially her Italian cookies.

She is survived by a daughter, Patti S. Cirillo (Arthur), two grandchildren, Peter Cirillo (Patricia) and Alicia Alves (Daniel), four grandsons, Dominic, Dylan, Donovan Cirillo and Lorenzo Alves, a sister, Doris Moskala (Ted), all of Bristol. She was preceded in death in addition to her husband and parents by a son, Peter S. Pezzullo, two sisters, Antonetta Francis and Lucy E. Murgo, four brothers, Michael Murgo (Josephine of Bristol), Paul F., John B. and Rudolph M. Murgo.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, are Monday, July 8, 2019, at 10 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.  Visitation will be Monday morning only from 9 to 10 a.m. For online condolences, shared memories, information and directions go to www.sansonefuneralhome.com
