Pawtucket Red Sox to honor Barrington's All-Stars

Portion of ticket sales to benefit Barrington Little League

The Barrington U12 All-Star baseball team will be honored by the Pawtucket Red Sox during a special event at McCoy Stadium on Saturday night, Aug. 31.

The Boston Red Sox AAA affiliate will welcome the local Little League team onto the field prior to the start of the game between the PawSox and Lehigh Valley Ironpigs. The game starts at 6:15 p.m. 

The Barrington U12 All-Star team won the District II, State and Regional tournaments this summer and competed in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

The Pawtucket Red Sox will donate half of the proceeds for every ticket sold for the game through this link: https://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?orgid=53855&schedule=list&agency=PRSV_B2B231 to Barrington Little League.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
