Pauline G. O'Brien, 84, Portsmouth

Pauline G. (Fonseca) O'Brien, 84, of 32 Barkers Lane, Portsmouth, died on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth’s Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late James “Eddy” O'Brien.

Born in Fall River on April 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Florence (Belanger) Fonseca.

Mrs. O'Brien was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center. She enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. O'Brien was an avid crocheter and enjoyed ceramics and reading.

She is survived by her children, Debra Faryniarz and her husband Larry of Portsmouth, Susan O'Brien of Portsmouth, Janet O’Brien and her husband Scott Szafir of Tiverton, Eddie O'Brien and Linda Layman of Portsmouth, Dorothy O'Brien (St. Pierre) and Todd Wroe of Portsmouth, Kathleen O'Brien of Portsmouth, and Michael O'Brien and his wife Teresa of Portsmouth, and her son-in-law, James Jenney of Kissimmee, Florida. She was predeceased by her daughter Collen Jenney.

Thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer Collins and her husband Tom Warren, Dr. Jonathan O’Brien and his wife Andrea, Donald Collins and his wife Christie, Christopher O’Brien, Danielle O’Brien, Mallory O’Kane and her husband James, Andrew Jenney, Charles Jenney, Melissa St. Pierre, Brian St. Pierre, Alyson St. Pierre, Aidan O’Brien, Nolan O’Brien; and six great grandchildren, Avery Warren, Parker Collins, Abbie Collins, Adriana Belle O’Brien, Tedy O’Brien and Ryan O’Kane.

She was the sister of the late Florence LePage, Norman Fonseca, Rene Fonseca, Roger Fonseca, Manuel Fonseca, Jr., Marie J. Ryan, Lucille Thompson, Mary Dolin, and Dorothy Loudin.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Feb. 14, from 4-8 p.m. in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.

Her funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m., from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery in Tiverton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Elizabeth Manor, Memory Care Unit, One Dawn Hill Road, Bristol, RI.
