Paula M. Flaherty, 85, of Barrington

Paula M. Flaherty, 85, of Vineland Drive, Barrington died peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Flaherty.

Born in Roselle Park, NJ, a daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Kossak) Saxer, she lived in Barrington since 1968.

Mrs. Flaherty was an office manager at the Squantum Club, Riverside for many years before retiring in 2004.

Paula was a communicant and Eucharist Minister at St. Luke Church. She enjoyed going to Barrington Beach and spending time with her loving grandsons, Christopher Brady and Ryan Gregory.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda J. Thompson and her husband Craig of Coventry, Conn., and Donna L. Brady of Riverside; three stepchildren, Dennis M. Flaherty of Barrington, Cheryl Rossi of Cranston, Kathleen Rocha of Warwick; a sister, Barbara Germinario of Marlboro, NJ,; eight grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are by the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, Riverside.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
