Paul Francis Patterson, 80, a lifelong resident of Warren, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Sebastian) Patterson for 53 years. He was son of the late John B. and Frances V. (Mikulski) Patterson.

Paul was a 1958 graduate of the former Warren High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1965 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a steel worker for 10 years for C.G. Brunkow; a Tool Maker for 10 years at BA Ballou; a custodian for 16 years before retiring from the Bristol Warren School District in 2002. He was a member of Bay State Street Machines.

Paul was the loving father of Paula Ormond and her husband Greg of Warren. Grandfather to Britney Ormond and Justin Ormond and his wife Halena. He was the great-grandfather of Scarlett V. Ormond. He leaves a brother, Samuel Patterson and his wife Elsie of Warren. He was also the brother of the late John B. Patterson Jr. and his wife Lucille, half brother of the late George, William and Joseph Bell. He leaves several nieces and nephews in the Patterson and Bell families.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services. Calling hours will be held Friday, Feb. 12, 9 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren, RI. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 am. A mask must be worn and all Covid restrictions will be observed. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the WFD Rescue Squad, 1 Joyce St., Warren, RI 02885 or the American Heart Association, 1 State St UNIT 200, Providence, RI 02908.

Paul and his wife Alice enjoyed 29 years as Country Line and Couple Dance Instructors, enjoying the company of many friends and still enjoyed all the wonderful people who "Danced into their lives,” creating many long-long friendships. So just remember:

“If you every get the chance to sit it out or dance, Please, Dance, Dance, Dance!”
