Paul Anthony De Mello, 69, of Bristol
Paul Anthony De Mello, 69, of Hope Street, passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2018, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rita (DaPonte) De Mello.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Ernesto and Gilda (Vitullo) De Mello. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Trina De Mello; grandson, Jacob Medeiros; and sisters-in-law, Janice Antinucci and Nancy Berretto.
Mr. De Mello was a 1966 graduate of Warren High School and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by Draka Comteq and Kaiser Aluminum before retiring.
His funeral services were held Feb. 1 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Douglas Grant at St. Mary’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Maria Stalzer and Annalee Tavares. The offertory gifts were presented by Trina De Mello and Jacob Medeiros.
Burial followed in North Burial Ground. Serving as pallbearers were Ken Proto, Rit Tavares, Tony Rego, Billy Cabral, Vincent Berretto, Frank Scorpio, Frank Parente, Ron Salvas and Gil Martins.
