There was no parade in Barrington on Monday, but the annual Memorial Day activities carried on.
The Barrington United Veterans Council held its wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, May 25, honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The wreath-laying ceremony opened with an introduction and pledge of allegiance, led by Lt. Col. Paul Dulchinos.
Col. Charles Brule offered a prayer, and Major Bill Groves conducted a roll call of deceased veterans. Al Girard lowered the American flag to half mast, and Mike Tripp, a Marine Vietnam War veteran, placed a wreath at Veterans Memorial.
Earlier this month, Lt. Col. Dulchinos announced that Barrington's annual Memorial Day parade had been canceled due to restrictions placed on social gatherings.
