Nick Scandura scored a career-high 31 points and Sean Bonneau knocked down seven three-pointers and finished with 25 points, as the Barrington High School boys basketball team defeated Cranston East, 80-65, on Tuesday night, Jan. 17.

The Eagles improved to 8-5 overall with the victory and 6-3 in Division I standings.

“I was really happy with our offensive execution,” Barrington Coach Mike Raffa wrote in an email to the Barrington Times. “We got great shots all night and our scoring output was consistent over all four quarters.”

Matt Raffa finished in double figures with 14 points, while Dan Coogan added six points and Evan Anderson finished with four.

Coach Raffa said his team’s half-court defense will need to improve if the Eagles want to contend down the stretch.

Barrington will face a tough test on Thursday when the Eagles travel to play against undefeated Hendricken. The game tips off at 6:30 p.m.
