Newport Beer Festival is at Fort Adams on Saturday

The Newport Beer Festival brings togwether 50 breweries, offering more than 100 beer selections, at historic Fort Adams State Park this Saturday, April 20, proudly sponsored by Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling. Event details are:

  • Saturday, April 20
  • Fort Adams State Park
  • 2-5:30 p.m.
  • Tickets: $65 (includes a souvenir tasting glass and all samples)
  • 21+ with valid ID, no babies, no pets
  • Event held rain, sea fog or shine
  • All sales final - no refunds
  • Proceeds benefit the Rhode Island Brewers Guild
  • Food will be available for purchase from several food vendors, including: Aquidneck Island Oyster Co, Newport Chowder Company, Binge BBQ, La Costa Lobster and Tacos, Cluck Truck, A Mano Pizza and Gelato and the Wiener Wagon.

Live music from The Weisstronauts will complement the beer tastings.

ALL ticket purchasers will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize: two (2) tickets, valued at $400, to the Fort Adams Trust's annual Fourth of July celebration. Tickets includes hospitality spread, open bar and a front row seat to the City of Newport’s fireworks display.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
