The Nayatt School 5K had a different look this year.
The event, a road race usually held in front of the school and host to a large crowd, went virtual this year. From April 30 through May 9, runners had an opportunity to run a 5K or 1-mile race on their own course and then post their times online.
The theme of the race was “Hustle for Heroes” and served as a great chance for parents and their children to say thanks to the “Heroes of Covid” which included first-responders, teachers and others. Students also created some posters for their teachers and principal.
Earlier this month, a group of Nayatt students delivered some of the posters, plants and cards to the first-responders at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. The students included Reese Humm, Sadie Warner, Peter Moran, Finn Thimme, Erin Moran, Emily O'Connell, Maddy Piazza, Charlie Moran, Walter Antonio, Bryce Antonio and Bobby Piazza.
