Music at Imago presents the Paper Moon Jazz Band September 15

Join Imago Foundation for the Arts as it welcomes the Paper Moon Jazz Band as part of its Music at Imago series at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 15th at Imago Gallery, 36 Market Street, Warren. Doors open at 3:30pm.
Inspired by the cafes of Paris, the brass of New Orleans, and the big bands of Duke Ellington and Count Basie, Paper Moon Jazz Band is Rhode Island’s premiere hot jazz band and features some of the best local jazz performers. Dedicated to the timeless music of Django Reinhardt and the jazz standards of the Swing Era, Paper Moon will transport you into the 1920s with their rhythmic pulse and classic sound.
Their electric live performances of gypsy jazz and blues have received rave reviews, leading to their Judges Pick Award and multiple nominations for Motif Magazine’s “Best Jazz Ensemble” and features on The Public’s Radio and in Hey Rhody. Read more about them at https://www.papermoonjazzband.com/

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
