Mt. Hope boys' soccer team opens with two shutouts

The Mt. Hope boys' soccer team blanked Middletown, 3-0, on Thursday at home, to earn its second win, and second shutout, in as many nights. On Wednesday, the team beat Pilgrim on the road, 1-0.

On Thursday, the Huskies got goals from Shaun Wilson, Andrew Simas and Daniel Proulx, along with eight saves from goalkeeper Ben Casteneda, to defeat the Islanders 3-0. On Wednesday, Travis Waleryszak scored the lone goal in the second half to give Mt. Hope the 1-0 victory over Pilgrim.

Mt. Hope's next match is Tuesday night, Sept. 8, under the lights at home.
