Mediation

Posted by uc2020

This course is available 100% online and students will be expected to participate in class meetings and discussions in ZOOM.

This 32-hour course will provide students with skills and techniques such as active listening, reframing, brainstorming, handling power imbalances, and dealing with impasse; all of which are skills needed to engage parties to talk with one another. Although these skills may have been learned in other venues, the umbrella of mediation offers a process context to work through conflict in a more deliberate and meaningful way. The course surpasses the 30-hour minimum training requirement to serve as a mediator in the State of Rhode Island.
