Last Thursday, March 15, a delegation from Bristol’s Sister City of Lagoa in the Açores arrived at Town Hall and was greeted by several leaders in the local community. After providing an introduction, Town Administrator Steven Contente and Lagoa Mayor Cristina Calisto exchanged gifts, where Mr. Contente read a newly signed proclamation designating March 15, 2018, as “Sister City Lagoa Day.” Following the welcome reception, the delegation had several stops on their tour of the Bristol community, including visits to C&C Fiberglass, The Lobster Pot, Roger Williams University, Mosaico Bristol Industrial Park and the Portuguese Beneficial Association.
