Matthew G. Hubert, 39, of Providence

Matthew G. Hubert, 39, of Glasgow Street, Providence died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at Roger Williams Hospital surrounding by his loving family.

Born in Media, Pa., on Aug. 28, 1980, a beloved son of Mark C. and Mary Catherine (Marchetti) Hubert of Barrington, he lived in Providence for the past 10 years. Mr. Hubert was a clerk for PNC Financial Company for 2 years.

Matthew was a graduate of Barrington High School and played the trumpet in the Jazz Band, and the University of Rhode Island where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed baseball and was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan.

Besides his parents he is survived by three sisters, Mary Pamela Hubert Kumm, of Overland Park, Kansas, Jessica Ann Hubert of New York City, NY and Katherine Marie Hubert of Barrington and a niece Lindsay Hubert of Overland Park, Kansas, and a brother-in-law, Jason Kumm of Overland Park, Kansas. He was preceded in death by a brother Mark C. Jr., who died in infancy. He was the grandson of the late William and Julia (Paetow) Hubert, and the late Jerome and Ann (O’Gara) Marchetti. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Springfield, Pa. at the convenience of the family. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Matthew’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 1005, Warwick, RI 02886 would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements by the W.
