Maria Lourdes (Contente) Silveira, 88, of Prospect Street passed away on May 19, 2020, at Evergreen House Health Center. She was the wife of the late Jose Melo Silveira.
Born in Feteira, Faial, and Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Margarida (Gomes) Contente. She is survived by her children, Fernando Silveira and his fiancée Dana of Exeter, R.I., Noelia Lemos and her husband Lizuarte of Chula Vista, Calif., Maria Tavares and her husband Antonio of Rehoboth Mass., and James Silveira of Bristol; grandchildren David Silveira, David Lemos, Stephen Lemos, Kevin Lemos, and Marissa Castigliego; and great-granchildren, Marcia Lemos, Kevin Lemos and Jayden Lemos. She was the sister of Manuel Contente and Teresa Cabral.
Mrs. Silveira was educated in Portugal and employed by American Toursiter for 20 years before retiring.
