Maria das Neves Ferreira, 89, of Bristol

Maria das Neves (Cordeiro) Ferreira, 89, of Roma Street passed away on June 29, 2019, at home. She was the wife of the late John Ferreira.   

Born in Relva, St. Michael, she was the daughter of the late Joao (Vigia) Cordeiro and Rosalina do Carmo Botelho. She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Medeiros and her husband Eduardo Medeiros of Bristol, and Maria N. Cordeiro and her husband John of Swansea, Mass.; grandchildren, Robert Medeiros (Patricia), Nicole Calvert (Jason) and Priscilla Cordeiro; and great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Medeiros and Alexander Calvert. She was the sister of Alexandrina Constancia and the late Angelina Oliveira, Jose Cordeiro and Joao Cordeiro. 

Mrs. Ferreira was educated in Portugal and employed by American Tourister and Chez Moi Bridal Boutique before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Wednesday,  July 3, at 8 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
