Maria Catarina Souto of Bristol

Maria Catarina (daSilva) Souto, of Bristol, R.I., passed away, Monday, July 26, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, R.I.

She was the wife of the late Jose Silveira Souto.

Born in Faial, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria DeJesus (Leal) daSilva.

Mrs. Souto had worked as a packer at various manufacturing jobs. She was a communicant of St. Elizabth’s Church in Bristol.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Fernando J. Souto and his wife Tara of Bristol, R.I.; two daughters, Margarida M. Souto and her husband Brian of Rumford, R.I., and Judite J. and her husband David of Riverside, R.I.; six grandchildren, Eddy, Paul, Michael, Matthew, Emma, and Madelyn, and one great-grandson, Kylo.

She was also the sister of the late Antonio L. DaSilva.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 9 to 10 a.m. in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, R.I.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., from Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol, RI.

Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
