Manuel Veloso Botelho, 87, of Bristol

Manuel Veloso Botelho, 87, of Primrose Drive passed away on Aug. 21, 2019, at home. He was the husband of Maria deLourdes (Achadinha) Botelho.   

Born in Aqua do Pau, Sao Miguel, he was the son of the late Jose Bento Botelho and Maria Dos Anjos Raposo. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Teresa Dias and her husband Rafael, Alberto Botelho and his wife Grace, Carlos Botelho and his wife Kimberly, Rosa Ferraz and her husband Gualter, Ana Botelho, Marco Botelho and his wife Anabela, Liseta Ramos and her husband Helder, and Zelia Caetano and her husband Manuel Antonio. He was the grandfather of Sinely Dias, Cristian Dias, Ana Isabel Botelho, Alberto Botelho Jr., Emily Botelho, Alex Botelho, Alison Botelho, Sandra Ferraz, Miguel Ferraz, Liseta Botelho, Marco Botelho Jr., Kevin Botelho, Tiago Ramos, Fabio Ramos, Emma Caetano and Nuno Caetano, and great-grandfather of Adrian Botelho.

Mr. Botelho was a fisherman and farmer while living in Portugal. Upon coming to the United States, he worked as a landscaper for Perry’s Landscaping.

His funeral services were held Aug. 27 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Marinaldo Batista at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Sharon and Junior, and The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Marco. The offertory gifts were presented by Sinely, Ana Isabel and Lisentinha. 

Burial followed in North Burial Ground. Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Alberto, Carlos, Marco, Joe, Gualter, Rafael, Helder, Toni, Cristian, Junior, Marco, Kevin, Alex, Miguel and Tiago.
