Manuel F. Ribeiro, Jr., 95, of Bristol, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol.

He was the husband of the late Rita (Langlois) Ribeiro.

Manuel was born in Bristol, a son of the late Manuel F. Ribeiro, Sr. and Mary (Sousa) Ribeiro.

He was the manager for the Sunset Bakery in Bristol for many years.

Manuel was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II as a Military Police Officer.

He was a lifelong Bristol resident, and a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church.

Manuel was a member of the VFW, the Holy Name Society at St. Elizabeth, and also a member of the Fisherman’s Club Swanee River.

He is survived by his son, Manuel F. Ribeiro III, and his wife, Debbie, of Johnston, R.I.

Mr. Ribeiro was the grandfather of three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. He was the father of the late Stephen Ribeiro, and the late Frederick Ribeiro. He was the brother of the late Anthony Ribeiro, and Olga Lewis.

Manuel was buried privately in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements entrusted to the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, Warren.
