Louise M. (Quartaro) Fortin, 95, of Warren, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol.
She was the wife of the late Henry Fortin.

Louise was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph “Kid Hope” and Josephine (Amato) Quartaro. She was a Business Manager for Sears for many years.

She had lived in Warren since 1946, coming from Bristol. Louise was a former parishioner of St. Jean the Baptiste Church.

Louise had also worked at Dixon, and Sears & Roebuck in Swansea Mall, where she retired from.

She was an avid painter and drawer. She enjoyed going to the Warren Senior Center, playing Bingo, traveling, and going to casinos. She also loved cooking and spending time with her family, doing crosswords and dancing.

Louise was very much a people person. She loved being around everyone and also her cherished friends.

She liked listening to music, especially Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Fortin and his wife Kelley of Aliso Vieko, California, her daughter Cynthia Mello and her husband Robert of Warren. Mrs. Fortin was the grandmother of Matthew Mello and his wife Kelsey, Kristen Mello, Christopher Mello and his wife Maegan and Traci Phillips.

She was the great-grandmother of Lillyana Mello, Carlli Phillips, Candace Phillips, Rheannon Bowens.
Louise was the great-great-grandmother of Amara-Jo Phillips, and Ian Phillips.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 6, 2020 at 11:30 am in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 9 am to 11 am at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. The family will not be present during this time period, though you will be able to pay your respects, sign the guest book and leave.
