Join RE/MAX River's Edge for our Local Artist Opening Reception in conjunction with Art Night - Gallery & Open Studio Tours of Bristol and Warren, RI. We will be featuring local artist B. Léger. Enjoy light bites, meet the artist and view local artwork.

The event is free & open to the public.

About Barbara:

Barbara Léger is a Master Marine Oil Painter. Member of the Oil Painters of America and International Society of Marine Painters. Léger’s subjects are always connected to the ocean or shoreline. The complexity of the ocean has been her life long love and study. Léger is a sharp focus realist, working in the illuminist technique. Léger’s “Nantucket Dogs”, yellow labs and golden retrievers, are always featured at The Vanderbilt Gallery in Nantucket Ma. Along with her originals oils, B.Léger is often commissioned for custom canine compositions. Her contemporary realism captures the action of the water in sharp focus. With composition that include racing J-class sailboats, vintage mahogany boats and the frolicking of a golden on the beach.

Her artwork will be on display at RE/MAX River's Edge through July. Visitors are welcome to stop in and view her work during business hours, Monday-Friday 9 AM - 4 PM.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
