L.L Bean Shore Tour Coming to Newport This Weekend!

The L.L.Bean Shore Tour is coming to Sail Newport at Fort Adams State Park this weekend August 24-26.

This tour features the Bootmobile as well as their Outdoor Discovery Programs. Kayaking and paddleboarding equipment will be available for rental, and instructors will provide classes.

Stop by to check out the on-the-water experiences, as well as games, giveaways and prizes!

The L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Program will be located on the beach near the Mule Barn. The paddlesports rentals and classes are $15 and will run from 10:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. daily.

In partnership with Fort Adam State Park, we'll also be offering FREE paddling to kids under 18 on Friday, August 24th. Note children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

There will also be a special 3-hour guided Full Moon Kayak Tour from 6:30pm – 9:30pm on Saturday only - the cost is $59. THIS WILL BE INCREDIBLY FUN!!

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
