Three Little Compton-based sailors took first place this past weekend in the Yngling 2024 North American Championships, held in Marquette, Mi. Henry Brislin (left), skipper Bruce Chafee (center) and Kevin Gallagher, all of the Sakonnet Yacht Club, beat out sailors from across the country in their yngling, a racing keelboat made predominantly of fiberglass with wood trim. They were aboard one of two Sakonnet Yacht Club boats competing in the prestigious event hosted by the Marquette Yacht Club Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4.
