Linden Place hosts jazz performance Saturday night

Linden Place Museum welcomes back Greg Abate, Jazz saxophonist, flutist, and composer, for a concert in the historic Carriage House Ballroom. The performance will take place on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. 

Greg Abate is an international jazz recording artist, having performed with groups such as the Ray Charles Orchestra and at jazz clubs and festivals across the globe. In 2016 he was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame. He will be accompanied by Matt DeChamplain on piano keyboard, Paul Del Nero on the bass and Gary Johnson on drums.

Tickets are $25 for general admission, and $20 for Linden Place members.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
