To the editor:
Bristol Blooms is gearing up for another spectacular Christmas season. Our 144 wreaths and bows are ordered and will be ready for hanging in just a few weeks. Downtown shops are stocking up with treasures for holiday shoppers and restaurants are planning their menus and soon taking reservations for gatherings large and small. The Santa House will be ready to delight the children along with our annual tree lighting.
There will be some changes in downtown decorations this year. Many trees have been cut down or heavily trimmed leaving less opportunity for overhead twinkle lighting. In order to maintain our usual winter wonderland appearance for the holidays, the Town will be lighting the lanterns with strings of white bulbs, and top each lantern with a lighted snowflake. Our wreaths will complement the lights and be hung with patriotic bows! Bristol will have a new look for the holidays.
Bristol Blooms asks for your support to help cover our increasing expenses. By the end of the year, our account is nearly depleted. DPW does assist us in hanging them, but we receive no funding from the Town. We know how much everyone enjoys our flower baskets and wreaths and we do depend on the kind generosity of you, the Bristolians, to continue!
