Letter: Together we can improve town services for all

To the editor:

I am deeply honored and humbled to have been recently elected to the Portsmouth Town Council. Your trust in me is greatly appreciated, and I assure you that I will work diligently on your behalf and deliver results for our community. Also, I am grateful for the courtesy extended to me and my campaign team, including: my husband and family and, most importantly, the community members who have stepped forward in the past few months.
During my campaign I have heard resident’s concerns about taxes, the transfer station, housing, senior living and recreation to name a few. I am committed to listening to residents and acknowledge that significant work is needed. Together we can improve our town services for all residents. Should you have ideas and suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 401/207-2576 or e-mail sharlene4portsmouth@gmail.com.
I wish your family the very best, and I thank you again for all your support.

Kind regards,

Sharlene Patton

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
