To the editor:
The Rhode Island Office of Management and Budget produced an analysis on March 24 claiming the state of RI could potentially save $5.4 million a year in taxpayer dollars if we allow those dollars to pay for the killing of pre-born children through abortion rather than allow them to be born.
Is this what the state of RI has been reduced to? Is this truly the only solution we can come up with? Killing those who might be a burden so we don’t have to deal with helping them? At about $400 dollars per abortion, how many babies do we have to kill to get to that $5.4 million in savings? Who’s next? The mentally and physically challenged? The homeless?
If you want your tax money to go towards healing and helping rather than killing, please contact your local senator and urge them to vote no on bill S-2549 and contact your local representative and urge them to vote no on bill H-7500. Thank you.
