To the editor:
I would like to thank the Barrington Town Council, especially Steve Boyajian and the town manager, Jim Cunha, for quick action on a request to paint a new crosswalk at a very busy pedestrian intersection at the corner of Rumstick and Governor Bradford roads.
This is the only main crossing area between two large residential neighborhoods that is used all day long. It starts early in the morning with the walker/joggers and then it becomes a major gathering point for the children who ride their bikes to Hampden Meadows School.
Then, all day long there are parents with strollers, dog walkers, grandparents, visitors and etc. — the list could go on and on, but you get the idea.
I can only hope this helps slow down the many cars and trucks that seem to pay no attention to the local residents that live in the area. Every step like this is a start towards a safer and better quality of life of the local community residents.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Abby Ashley
Barrington
